We've been burglarized.
Our home was burglarized this afternoon in broad daylight by a couple of neighborhood kids. Unfortunately I can't say much more about it at this time until the investigation is complete.

We all know who did it and now it's a matter of the cops catching the three boys involved. All who are on the run at this moment and hiding, afraid to come home.

I don't know what to say, nor what to think at this moment. Part of me is very mad, part of me is fearful as our home space had been violated. Another part of me is very sad for we knew two of the boys involved and have known them most of their teen-aged lives.

It's tough.

Either way, if you pray - pray. Not so much for us, our home or our stuff, but oddly enough my request is for these boys. To do the right thing, not run from the cops or get themselves killed trying to escape accountability.

In hopes that whatever the outcome, this will be a turning point in their young lives. An opportunity to set things straight, set some goals, to loose the gang mentality and hopefully grow up to be good young men.

It's sad.

But I can't just give up on them. Too many already have. =O(

Turkey Time!
I've been quite busy over this weekend. Squirt had her 5th Birthday Party here yesterday and we had quite a blast. Unfortunately, Gon seemed to have jammed up the camera and lost a ton of our pictures.

When we first moved here we were deeply concerned because the neighborhood was full of little boys. C-R-A-Z-Y little boys too, the kind that climb fences, wrestle gators out of the marsh, beat azalea bushes to pieces with a bat for no reason other than to pass time.

I remember sitting out on my front deck pregnant with a girl and worried to pieces on how many thorn filled rose bushes I would someday be needing to plant outside of her bedroom window.

Things have changed over the last five years. Neighbors came and gone. Some were born and some had died. Many were evicted thank the Good Lord. However, now our tiny little street is just chock loaded with little girls. All about the same age and they all love to hang out here.

So today I decided to keep them busy and entertained. I had some pipe cleaners, googly eyes, paint, glue and felt on hand. All we needed were some of the biggest pine cones we could find. So we all went scavenger hunting to each find the perfect pine cone so we could make these precious little Turkey Peeps.

Now these pair are Erica's and she insists that these are not Turkeys but Peacocks.

This adorable looking road kill Turkey is the one Squirt painted and put together. The one behind it is another little girl in the neighborhood who shares the same name as Squirt.

Here is Brianna's masterpiece. Like most of the girls she sat there for hours fully concentrating, with tongue half out, taking her time to paint each and every feather.

Lastly here is Michelle's cutesy Turkey. With pink legs, folded just like a lady or maybe the poor turkey needs to use the bathroom?

Overall today was a great day. No issues, or screaming little ones and they were so excited to make these Turkeys. Even more excited after the Turkey's dried and it was time to go home for the night and they brought them home to give to their Momma's.

And I'm officially named the "Super Dooper Expert Googley Eye Gluing On Lady." Even though I don't know the correct name for that red Goobley Gobbley thing that hangs under the Turkey's beak.

Does anyone know the correct name for the Goobley Gobbley?

Whooo Hooo Dependable Ghost Tree Uproots!
We've been getting quite a bit of rain here in Savannah, Ga this past week. That's a good thing for being in a bit of drought we really need the water. I don't mind the rain much, for I have a nice covered front deck with a tin roof. It is so relaxing to sit out there on a rainy day, kick my feet up and enjoy the fresh washed air and a good book.

That's exactly what Squirt and I were doing last night just before supper, while the oven fried chicken was in progress. A flock of chickadees came to visit and we sat there and enjoyed watching them fly on, in and around our Dependable Whooo Hooo Ghosts.

Then all of the sudden, the ground shook and then sounded the most eeriest groan followed by a great big ripping sound. We sat there with our jaws dropped to our knees as we watched the entire tree tip over into the ditch behind it.

The Whooo Hooo Ghosts hung on as the flock of chickadees flew away. Who would think that they were just heavy enough to bring that whole tree down? There must had been a flying monkey or two that we didn't see.

Thankfully the tree, or rather mutant large Redbush wasn't large enough to hit the house behind it. Truthfully over the past few years our front yard real estate has been getting smaller and smaller. Wash out and erosion for the most part. Considering the house on the other side, we don't have much to complain about. They have absolutely no back yard at all!

My guess is to stay tuned, by the looks of things all it will take is another flock of Chickadees and maybe at least one flying monkey - and their entire mobile home is going to roll over backwards.

That's ok though, for now without the Redbush tree blocking my view - all that needs to happen is loose that house and I have a clear view straight to the Vernon River.

Providing some gorgeous evening sunset enjoyment.

Margie Unplugged, "It's October!"
From now until New Year's Day, this is my favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather, the sun going down earlier and of course, decorating. That is what we have been busy doing all weekend.

Although it's a little too early for pumpkin carving we let Squirt have at it with one of the pumpkins we had bought today. Notice the "Wooooo hoooo" Ghost tree behind her.

But of course we live in a mobile home and what would Halloween be without a gargantuan Trailer Park light up plastic pumpkin?

Or perhaps a drunken fly by Witch who crash landed in my side garden.

We had a ball decorating our main front garden also. Yes, those are upside down Coca-Cola bottles for edging - I'm in the process of lining all of my gardens with these. For of course, we must stick with the trailer park theme throughout the entire year.

We also spooked out our Norwood Pine for the festive spooky season.

Remember those "Whoooo Hoooo" Ghosts flying in that there mutant redbud bush/tree?

Can anyone guess what they are made out of?

It all Depends! Mr. & Mrs. IOH accidentally purchased the wrong kind of protective undergarments. They were supposed to buy the easy Pull-up just like big kids pants kind but got stuck with these gargantuan diapers from hell instead. They told me to find someone who may need them and I couldn't. They've been in the back of my SUV for over two months now.

As I was about to throw the package away I noticed that upside down they kind of looked like "Woooo Hooo" Ghosts. So with a little imagination, a Sharpie Marker and some string we landed 20 giant brand new "Wooooo Hoooo" Ghosts.

Keeping with the trailer park theme, 'ya know. It's kind of cool if you think about it. For there is no way on God's green earth that I would be able to get away with hanging adult diapers in a tree if I lived within a gated community.

Welcome to My Trailer Park: "Fireworks"
Despite the dry and drought conditions, fireworks can be found at almost every grocery corner or roadside stand in preparation for the Fourth of July.

I think I'll stop and get some fire insurance and on the way back pick up a dozen Roman Candles for this Wednesday's festivities.

(Thanks to Georgia Peach for the YouTube heads up.)

WTF is a WTF?
WTF (What the fuck) is a WTF do you ask? According to Scott Larson our mild mannered city reporter and bloggy buddy, a WTF is a cell tower or rather the three letter acronym for a "Wireless Telecommunications Facility."

Now Cell Towers are loathsome eyesores that dot our gorgeous landscape but they are a must have technology to keep up with our demands for cellular phone quality. Of course, nobody wants to wake up one morning, pull open their blinds and look out their picture windows to see a WTF towering across the street from them.

So the city of Savannah has been discussing an ordinance with developers to erect environmentally friendly, concealed and camouflaged WTF's throughout our beautiful city.

I wouldn't consider a mutant, 200 foot high - Palm Tree inconspicuous. Environmentally friendly, I doubt it. I'm sure our native birds would die laughing as they say to one another, "WTF is up with that Jack and the beanstalk looking thing?"

Our tourists who often come to Savannah to see our magnificent Giant Oaks, Sugar Magnolias and to find out for themselves how tall is a Georgia Pine really is - will be flabbergasted while driving into town.

Oh well, WTF does it matter anyway - at least their cell phones will work.

Welcome to my Trailer Park
Summer is here and things have gone nuts enough that I thought it's high time I started bloggin' about my lovely little neighborhood here. Trailer Parks have got to be the best place ever to be when there is nothing worth watching on TV, or your cable has been cut off.

Front porch sittin' is equal to studio audience seats at the Jerry Springer Show, especially in the summertime. Today for instance, I came home to see a Taxi Cab drop off a neighbor from an obvious beer run. Except said neighbor forgot to save a bit of money to pay his cab fare. A slew of angry unbleeped and uncensored words were tossed, then a lawn chair and a few punches. Before you know it, two police cars drive up to try and settle matters.

Yesterday was even crazier. Again, I drive home to see about 4-5 police cars parked up and down the street. Remember that half-out-of-her-head four year old I was talking about a few posts ago? Well, she seemed to have turned up missing yesterday afternoon and God only knows for how long before someone cared to take notice.

They found her, for somehow and in someway she managed to get underneath a neighbor's trailer who wasn't home and squeeze her way up through a floor vent. My floor vents are only about 5x10". How she managed to get her head and arms through is most certainly something a 4 year old who is out of her head could only do. She was stuck and they had to call out the fire and rescue department to literally saw her out of the vent.

Thank heavens she didn't attempt coming into our house at that level. It wasn't too long ago when I accidentally locked myself out of my house and had to submit to entering in through the doggy door.

Now, our Basset Hounds are darlings and would never hurt a fly. However, they are love bugs and if they could, they would jump up and lick us in the face whenever we came home. Luckily the short little shits can't do that, unless....

Unless you come in at their level. With their toilet water soaked long ears and big thirsty tongue kisses, you'd experience a little something like this:

Yeppers, you'd get the slobber, druel, bubblely snots and the whole kaboodle. Some watch-dogs they are, huh?

Cold Turkey Update: Doing good, feel very hungry all the time for some reason. Yes, I did cave again today but compared to smoking a pack a day - this is progress.
