Hey Mix, "Since you are from Savannah and me and my girl are coming down for the weekend. Tomorrow is our 6 month anniversary from when we started dating. Can you suggest a good place to have dinner in town?" -Chilly Willy
Are you nuts or something? What is up with you agreeing to celebrate some sort of "since we met" anniversary? Do you like to impose grief upon yourself and your future?
Take it from a girl; guys have a hard enough time remembering dates, anniversaries and the like. So why in the world would you allow the imposition of a mushy "when we met" kind of anniversary date. Trust me, if things work out with your girlie here, I guarantee in 10 years you'll be in the doghouse because you forgot.
If you are traveling here to Savannah or going out on the town, do it because y'all want to have a good time and scratch that "6 month" anniversary bologna. Unless of course you're being whipped into it.
As for restaurants and good eats, you can't even trip and fall down drunk - without falling into a good place to eat here in Savannah. I suspect you'll be hanging around downtown and along River Street. Tubbys is great for seafood and a relaxed atmosphere. The Lady and Sons on Congress St. is fabulous and home to Paula Dean from the Food Network. My best advice is to follow your nose and every whim.
Have fun and enjoy a Wet Willies drink for me, in honor of your 6th month anniversary of course.
